Who are you? Really?

Who are you? When you are all alone, no one else is around... no one to impress, no one to satisfy, no one to answer to, no one judging you...? I think that when we are by ourselves that is when we can discover how God designed us as individuals and who we really are. Do we change our way of thinking when around certain people? Do you act different? Maybe agree with them or do what they do even when it doesn't feel right or true to the way we really feel? I think we are all guilty of that in some way.

I've said it before and I will say it again. I believe our conscience is our spirit. It usually tells us the right thing to do, but often times we choose not to listen. The enemy will always find a way to creep in, and if we let him take over, the harder it will be to hear your spirit guide you. Think of it this way... When you have a garden it grows naturally, you can not change how it grows and when the seeds sprout. All you do is maintain it, feed it, let it show you what it needs; watering, fertilization, pruning, weed pulling. That's what our conscience does, it talks to you and guides you. But, if we stop being aware and become lazy, weeds will take over. If you have ever worked in your yard, flowerbed, or garden... you know how hard it is to get rid of weeds once you get lazy and do not take proper care to prevent them! Weeds are the enemy. Satan. Before you know it you have pushed your conscience aside, your spirit, and he (satan) has fooled you. Some weeds actually have pretty flowers! But, they are still ugly weeds.

Who are you listening to? Who are you trying to satisfy? Yourself? Your spouse? Your peers? The Lord?

You cannot deny who God created you to be. The only thing you can do is deny Him to work in you to fulfill   it!

What if your child turned out to be just exactly like you. Do everything you do, say everything you say, believe everything you believe. Would you want that for them? Of course we all want "better" for our children, but I mean BE WHO you are. Its not always easy to listen to your spirit and "do the right thing" but, the feeling you get when you do surpasses any temporary feeling that listening to the enemy will bring. Most of the time when we listen to the enemy the good feeling is only temporary... and that good feeling is almost always followed by regret and guilt. Listening to your spirit, the Lord, will always bring true happiness and prosperity to your life.

So, lets be who God made us! Lets listen, seek Him, trust Him and do what we KNOW we should. Don't live for others, live for yourself because God is IN you. If it doesn't bring INCREASE it is bringing DECREASE! Lets apply it to every aspect of our lives and live with no regrets! Do not set yourself up for failure. FOR ME, I choose to listen to my conscience. I don't want it bringing conviction to my heart later. I choose to honor God because I WANT TO, no one is making me. Be YOU, shine bright. Even when its not "cool" or "popular"... I would rather be totally LAME than full of SHAME!

Test yourselves and find out if you really are true to your faith. If you pass the test, you will discover that Christ is living in you. But if Christ isn’t living in you, you have failed. 2 Cor 13:5
